About Me
Colter Olmstead is a filmmaker, editor, and sound designer based in Missoula, Montana. Born and raised in the state, he began his career creating music videos for local artists—a passion that led him to study film at Montana State University, where he graduated in 2015.

He has worked on numerous short films, commercials, and documentaries, specializing in both location and post-production sound while gaining experience across nearly every crew position. In recent years, Colter has focused on humanitarian, activist, and educational projects, using his filmmaking skills to support and strengthen Montana communities.

Colter is dedicated to growing Missoula’s creative landscape, founding Area 41 Collective and Last of the Nobodies, two organizations dedicated to fostering a stronger arts and music scene in Montana, providing collaboration, and opportunities for emerging talent. Inspired by the people he collaborates with, Colter looks forward to continuing to tell meaningful, community-driven stories.
